  • WILLIAM CAWTHON and WILLIAM WILSON CAWTHON First I'd like to say that this website is about as good as they get and I'm very glad to have found it.

WILLIAM CAWTHON and WILLIAM W. CAWTHON are two different individuals. There is an entry for both WILLIAM CAWTHON and WILLIAM W. CAWTHON
on the 1830 United States Federal Census for Henry County, Alabama. Also, WILLIAM W.'s middle name of WILSON shows up in a U.S. Land Patent made out to WILLIAM WILSON CAWTHON of HENRY COUNTY dated 4 Oct. 1832.

Until I checked it out I was all set to make WILLIAM CAWTHON a Cornet in the 25th Regiment of Alabama Militia as I've been trying for years to establish a
military, or Indian fighter link to WILLIAM CAWTHON in order to substantiate undocumented verbal accounts passed on to me. The military honor though,
    belongs to WILLIAM WILSON CAWTHON.

I have good copies of both documents which I'd be glad to post if someone will tell me how to do same on this site.
