  • James Grace
"I have info on his wife, Lucy Mobley and their daughter, Harriet M Grace who married Col James Jim Bennett."
Great! Please share the information with us. By the way, I have posted a query on Roots-Web regarding James Grace and family, to wit:

In the August 1, 1873 edition of “The Henry County Register,” there is an article that includes among the persons who immigrated and settled in Henry County in 1818, 1819, and 1820, "James Grace and sons James H, and John Thos. Martin, Byrd M. Grace.”

The "Heritage of Henry County, Alabama," 2002, page 3 interpreted this to mean pre-1830 Henry County pioneer James Grace had three sons:

    (1) James H.
    (2) John Thos. Martin
    (3) Byrd M.

However, based upon family trees posted by James Grace’s descendants as well as census records, I believe there are a couple of commas missing and James Grace actually had five sons:

    (1) James H.
    (2) John
    (3) Thos.
    (4) Martin
    (5) Byrd M.

Can you confirm James Grace had five sons and not three and identify your sources? If there were five sons, I’d like to correct the misinformation on the Pre-1830 Henry County, Alabama Pioneers website (http://henrycountyalabama.wetpaint.com/).
