Pre-1820

“Dick”, Pre-1820, first settler at present site of Columbia, Alabama settling on Chattahoochee River, established steamboat line with William W. Cawthon of Columbia, amassed great wealth and built a stately home in Columbia, cattleman who had free range cattle from Barbour County to St. Andrews Bay, Florida in partnership with William Wilson Cawthon.
