Chambers, Thomas 1820's One of two sons of 1816-1817 settler Pious Chambers and one of only three children—Elizabeth, first wife of Col. James Bennett, John who married Elizabeth Gilmore, daughter of Judge John H. Gilmore, and himself who married Nancy Early Morgan, daughter of Isaac D. Morgan early settler east of present-day Haleburg; established Chambers Plantation that survived Reconstruction and operated as a plantation until 1930s. The Henry County Register, June 13, 1873, recorded and expanded in THE HERITAGE OF HENRY COUNTY, ALABAMA, 2002, page 2.
Chambers, T 3/12/1826 Along with Stephen Williams, Garret Irvin, John Sholar, and Moses Weams, appointed appraiser of James Nauls' (deceased) estate. Note: It is not certain that T Chambers was Thomas Chambers but most likely he was. Henry County, Alabama Orphans Court Record Book C, page 399.
